Question Turbo, optimal, default, SPD, F1, Street Racer...

What *is* all this stuff? Here's what I understand - When a motherboard is set to read memory 'by speed' (SPD) it simply takes the timings that the RAM tells it, right?

And I'm inferring that 'Turbo, F1, Street Racer', etc etc are pre-defined memory timings macros that you can set if you don't want to monkey with the settings yourself.

So, if you do wish to set CAS, RAS precharge, etc, then using *any* of the pre-defined macros would run counter to setting these levels yourself, and may in fact contribute to memory subsystem instability.

Riiiiight? Please educate me.
