Twinx

I have a amd 3700 1 gig of ULTRA ram 7600gt, would it be better to get 2 gigs of corsair TWINX 3200 or save another hundred for an 8800gts

i game so which one would be better

Get the 8800gts, you'll see a lot more on the performance side than going to 2 gigs of ram....

With current games you may need both. I'm not trying to be a salesman but, if you try to crank the eye candy up with that 8800, you WILL need more than 1gb of RAM with certain games. BF2 was a very early example of this and more recent games will become more demanding than BF2 for sure.

Oh man, its chalk and cheese, definetly get the 8800 and then my advice is save like crazy and get the extra DDR too.

Between the 2, I would definitely upgrade the card first. Eventually gamers are going to want DX-10 capability. But, Zapionics is correct, do 1, then the other. The cumulative effect of a new card AND 2gb will be very noticeable with some games.
