| I'm going to be going from house to house fixing peoples pc's i just know it now that i live near family. I was thinking of getting a usb drive to do this and i want to ensure i get one that will let me run programs from it. I know i could use bartpe i have that but i'm curious as to how i can do this with a usb drive. What do you guys recommend for fast usb drives. Do i need it to be u3 smart or does that not matter? thanks!

| Re: USB drive Recommendation Doesn't matter if you have a usb drive or not you still should have the various Bartpe based cds with you because the system may not be able to function and one of these cds is the only cure. Besides not all systems can boot from a usb device. Having said that most if not all usb Hds can be used to run software. I have a wdc 120gb pocket usb. I have used smaller version for several years. Some of these have firewire attachment capability.

| Re: USB drive Recommendation FYI, i purchased the OCZ rally2 and its freakin awesome. I'm useing software from PortableApps.com - Portable software for USB drives | Your Digital Life, Anywhereâ„¢ and it works great. Even aps they don't have listed i've got running on it. This isgreat for when i visit peoples homes and need to work on their pc. Hawke-pe works best but eh this is pretty damn cool!
