Of course, a zip file can't be executed, how were you expecting that to run? Then burn the iso using either a specialized iso burner or "Image" burn in Nero.

yes you need to change the Boot order in your BIOS to make your CD/DVD drive to boot first...

you don't really even need to make it the first boot device, all you really need to do is make sure that your CD/DVD drive boots up before your hard drive--you can do this by setting your hard drive to boot last after your floppy and CD drive

are you trying to use Memtest?

if so maybe the floppy method would be easier for you....just download the zip file, unzip it to a folder, run the .exe file with a floppy in your drive and follow the simple instructions (type in "A" when it asks you what letter your floppy drive is etc etc.)...then re-boot with the floppy in the drive and the program will run automatically, you don't need to type in anything at all

i have made two of them and they both do the same thing. at boot up it says starting caldera dr-dos 7.03. then there is info about memory. then at the bottom it says [dr-dos] A:\>. it's like its waiting for me to type something. then i just take out cd and hit ctl-alt-del to reboot. could it be that this free nero express 6 is broke. can winxp default burning work? on the disk it says "files currently on cd- memtest86 3.2 iso" with a image of iso page. i think somethings wrong with the iso download!!...thank you..

It sounds like you are setting up nero to build a bootable cd. This is not correct.
You need to burn the iso directly. see pic's.

Munster, you really have to learn to use the search button here just once in a while. How to burn an iso image has been asked and answered here many, many times. If you had done a search on "burn iso image" you would have immediately found this thread:

Have an ISO Now what do I do with it to make it useable?

And this one:

Creating an Iso with Nero 6

and this one:

Bootable Memtest86 CDROM

plus many, many more, all answering the same question. The reason, I think, why there have been delays in answering your question is that it has been asked so many times in the past, that members are simply tired of answering the same question (although a valid question to be sure) over and over again, when the answer could easily be found by using the the search function here.
