Voltage in XP Hi all, I hope this is not a stupid question, but i am going to ask it anyhow. Can i see the real voltage that my memsticks get in a win XP program like SANDRA or something else? I have corsair twinx 3200XL, and they are advertised to run at 2.75 V but in my bios i have only 2.6, 2.7 and 2.8.... (A8V Deluxe).... Thats why i want to see the real voltage when i am in windows. Greetings and thanx in advance

Nope. None of the MBs that I know of have voltage measurement devices on the RAM slots. The only way to measure (or actually more exactly set the voltage) is with something like the OCZ RAM slot voltage regulator. Why not? Who knows, they have them elsewhere (CPU, etc.), so why they couldn't add them for the RAM slots, I certainly don't know. And with no devices, no software can measure or display what isn't there.

Abit motherboards show the voltage for the ram in their hardware doctor or whatever they call that program. The easytune thingy for my mobo displays the ram voltage too, but the Abit mobos are actually monitored. I beleive that mine just displays whatever you have it set for, because the actual voltage is off a little (high). On my buddy's IC7-G, the reading actually fluctuates a little bit. It just sits on my mobo, and displays exactly what it's set for. Motherboard monitor might pick up the ram voltage if you can figure out which voltage is what. That's about the only way I could see to get the voltage reading if the mobo's software doesn't support monitoring it. You could measure it with a meter if needed, or slap the OCZ DDR booster in there. You have to have a -5v rail to have the display work on it though. A lot of new powersupplies dropped the -5v rail because most mobos don't use it any more. You could try everest home, but I doubt it will have a reading for it. I would just set the voltage to 2.7 if it will pass memtest, and head to 2.8 if needed to correct any errors. The extra .05 volts isn't going to hurt them, so don't worry about it.
