I originally had 2 x128 pc133 333 crucial memory on my cusl2. bios settings could be set to 222 5t7t or 333 5t7t with no problems at all.

I just got 1 x256 pc133 222 crucial memory. now sandra memory test locks pc, 3dmark crashes back to desktop, games crash. bios settings are spd 222, 5t7t (haven't tried 7t9t). tried all three slots with no difference.

The rest of my pc specs are as follows:

P3 933 @ 980 133/133/33 set to 140/140/35
above mentioned memory
CUSL2
sblive xgamer5.1
gf2ultra
3com nic

Obviously there is a memory issue, but I was hoping for some more useful comments or suggestions. If needed I can provide all the info from the stickers on the memory

Thanks

just a suggestion... try 133/100/33. This should put less strain on the memory and give you greater o/c ability. I'm using 1x256 Crucial at 222 5/7. 733@962 ( just testing) No probs so far.

Sounds like heat problem.
Make sure your heatsink is solid.

If you still don't have any problem with old memory,
Call Crucial and exchange it.

memory

Thanks for the replies. The problem was with the 5t7t, 7t9t settings. My previous memory worked fine at either setting. The new 256 chim only works at the 7t9t setting. Whodathunkit!

Thanks guys.

Just out of curiosity, are your chips Micron "-7E"? I've run past 140/140/35 with my 256MB "-7E" without any problems. What does SPD say in BIOS? Is it PC133 & 2t,2t,2t. I ran my at 5t,7t without any glitches.
