What happened to Mushkin?

Muskin used to be on the bleeding edge of memory.

What happened to them?

I went to their website and was not impressed with the DDR3 offerings.

Re: What happened to Mushkin?

Uh ... I went there and found no DDR3 offerings, would that be the non-impressive portion of things?

Not sure what happened to them. Corsair and OCZ have the majority of the market these days it seems. Mushkin maybe needs to diversify more, Corsair and OCZ sure have.

Re: What happened to Mushkin?

They are still considered one of the better or best vendors. I have Mushkin in my system, and personally would choose them over Corsair or OCZ. They are known for a high satisfactory rate. Something that many memory vendors suffer from is DOA’s. Mushkin I have not had this problem with. In my system now is 4GB of Mushkin.

Re: What happened to Mushkin?

I have 3 Gigs of Mushkin memory in my system and a Mushkin PSU. For the time being it's all I will use.

Re: What happened to Mushkin?

I have always been a Mushkin fan. However, when putting together my current rig, I first tried 2x1GB Mushkin XP8500. I could not get it to run at rated speed/timings/voltage. I ended up using Crucial Ballistix 8500. It runs at rated speed and also runs at lower speeds/timings/voltages than the Mushkin did.
On another note, I got one of Mushkin's 550W power supplies and am very happy with it.

Re: What happened to Mushkin?

I use nothing but Mushkin. It never fails to boot, never hiccups and never acts persnickity.
Over the years I've built dozens of systems with it. The only time I didn't use Mushkin in a system was the only time I ever had a memory related issue.
I haven't made that mistake since.

Re: What happened to Mushkin?

I'd like to use Mushkin but I find no DDR3 RAM by Mushkin for sale anywhere. When I go to Mushkin's website, No DDR3 shows up unless you use the search function and then only DDR3 10666 shows up and then it says that this item is not available for sale!

Re: What happened to Mushkin?

Probably still ramping up the product. The web managers are out in front of merchandising, at least in this case.

Well, I just called Mushkin.

And yes they currently have only one model for sale.

However, I was told that their DDR3 R&D department is currently working on models that will clock better and last longer than other models currently on the market.
