|  Will ECC memory work on a non-ecc Motherboard? i have a Epox 8kta3 Motherboard, it uses non-ecc memory, but will it accept ecc memory? i have read on some pages that it will, just wont use all the ram.  |

| Re: Will ECC memory work on a non-ecc Motherboard? If the motherboard is capable of handling ecc or non ecc. It's an either or proposition all ecc or all non ecc you can't mix the two.

| Re: Will ECC memory work on a non-ecc Motherboard? I believe you CAN mix the two types, but the BIOS should be set for non-ECC. If there is no BIOS setting, it will automatically default to non-ECC.
