How much is that one? I didn't see that when I was researching these panels.

It cost me £420, but knowing how much we are ripped off in the UK I'd imagine it'd be about half that state side. It's really nice, games look fantastic, no ghosting etc, Quake 4 multi, no probs, it's got an advanced DV function that ups the contrast ratio to 1600:1, works really well in Oblivion's caves and dungeons. It's 1680x1050, 6ms g2g, 1:1 ratio option etc.

Good to hear. But I want 24 inch widescreen.

The Dell 2405 comes out great both in games and normal desktop work. I'm sure it will be great too.

No problems, playing HL2 at 1920x1200 is unbelievable, no ghosting that I notice....

Thumbs up Strongly Recommend the 2405

I've had the 2405 for about a year now and like the review FV references I too had a 21" Sony CRT and had my doughts about an LCD. That all quikly vanished once a set it up and played HL2, Doom3 and Far Cry (just like the review). I was blown away! In addtion, I got it at a great price thanks to FV.

I got it today, actually just set it up....

WOW... this thing is HUGE!!!!

Played 10 minutes of Oblivion, tweaked the gamma and such a bit....

Fantastic...!!

However, when I maximize an explorer window with the white background it seems a portion of the screen in the middle, somewhat to the bottom seems a bit darker than the rest. Is this normal? Maybe it is just the reflection and need to get used to it.

But so far I think it is amazing... Actually this is my first LCD!!!

Did I mention this this is BIGGGGGG!! hehehehe....

edit>>> the more I look at it and turn the screen a bit I think the impression I had with the somewhat darker area is viewing angle related... No wonder with such a HUGE one.

Thanks, I just did!!

OMG, toss out the window my old ideas about my old CRT still being better than this LCD (or any for that matter)...

Just fired up ages of Empires III. I can only say that I'm more than impressed. Framerates actually improved a lot (probably because of the 60hz) but seeing all of that in full 1920x1200 glory with such bright and vibrant colors!!

I find that when gaming I use 1600x1200 and for desktop I use 1024x768. This allows for I.E. or Firefox to extend across the display.
Don't know if this would help? Maybe I'm not understanding your question?

Cheers.

Well, I got it all sorted out. This monitor is superb.

Desktop running at 1920x1200 and in games at least 1600x1200 and if possible 1920x1200.

The only regret I have is that I didn't buy it sooner!
