3 of 7 - I think you'll be very happy with that monitor. I know a couple guys who have them, they are very nice. Great color, sharp and the 20ms repsonse time is very respectable. I looked fairly closely and didn't see any dead pixels in the two I looked at.
Because I do video and photo work, I'll probably be one of the last to go LCD, but they sure are nice.

I'm noticing that my eyes aren't burning as much as they used to and I don't seem to get as many headaches....
I've been running it at 1280X1024, so the text and pics are pretty darned sharp if I must say

I love it, I have one dead pixel in the lower right corner (it took me a long time to find it, so I'm not going to worry about it)

Any good links to the differences health wise?

Now eye strain in people older than 40 can be due to presbyopia, in which the eyes have trouble focusing on near objects (that's why older folks have reading glasses or bifocals) I may not know much about computers, but eyes are my thing
The first thing I do when I turn on the PC is pick up my reading glasses it makes the world of difference my graded bifocals give me a crick in the neck from looking out the bottom of the lense. I hate it when I help some with their computer and I haven't got my reading glasses.

What do you mean by modulation?

One of the meanings to modulating is "to vary the velocity of electrons in an electron beam."

The CRT near lights can modulate with the frequently of the lights. Take a incandescant light with it on ( ) and see what happens to the CRT when you take the light close to the monitor. My eyes can actually pick up on that modulation and even with the monitor at 100Hz refresh rate I find it annoying. Plus due to my rather sensitive hearing, I really don't like hearing the electron guns working harder and generating more heat. Basically if you monitor is modulating-so are your eyes which can cause in my case headaches, tearing, red eyes.

Are you sure you don't mean fluorescent instead of incandescent?

Yeah, my 21" CRT gets screwy when I put a fluorescent light next to it.

...Does anyone know anything regarding the radiation effects? How many rads-per-hour are we talking about?

Is that why I feel like I'm losing my hair?!
