Samsung Color Laser under $150

My wife bought me this small printer 12x 9 x15 USB connect there is a network version that has WIFI capability as well. This one is about $199. It took less 15 min to take out the box put paper load the xp driver and print the first page.

These are the Samsung CLP-315 and CLP-315N they are only XP, W2K and VISTA drivers. The Toner is rated a 1500 pages. They run about $35-45 each. All of this is very competative with Inkjet printers and the output doesn't smear.

Re: Samsung Color Laser under $150

Ive had a Sammy ML-1430 monochrome laser for 4 years now. Excellent. No issues out of it. 3828 pages and two toner kits, it still prints the same way it did they day I got it.

Re: Samsung Color Laser under $150

Very happy with print results, colour and text are really sharp.
Just need to get some quality laser paper.
Have read varying reports about powering off printer when not in use, wondered if either of you have an opinion as your experience is hands on.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Samsung Color Laser under $150

The konica minolta 2300w printer goes into idle power saver mode turning off hi intensity light needed for printing so no I don't power off but if you don't want the calibration delay that this printer goes thru you don't want to turn it off.

The Samsung I don't have enough experince with except what I have read that there is about a few seconds delay on the first page of printing after the printer has sat idle for a while. From this I gather that the Samsung also goes to a low power state as well.

I would say if you are not going to print for any extended period of time you can turn it off. The power on cycle is not that long so if you are cost conscious and energy concious then turn it off. The con vienience may outweight the savings although with all the talk about ghost power savings your choice.

Re: Samsung Color Laser under $150

Have been pricing ink toner and here in UK it`s cheaper for me to just buy a new CLP 315 with the included toner.
