| Simple keyboard problem - shift key First I would like to say that I kind of rambled on in this so I have labeled the areas in which I cover. I would greatly appreciate an answer to my problem and understand if someone would rather not read all of this. So if you could help and would prefer to get straight to the problem you can go to the last area labeled "The Real Problem". Next I would like to apologize for anything that sounds stupid and if someone has already been as ignorant (my nice way of calling myself stupid) as I and has already posted a similar thread. In my defense I did scroll through and try to check. Laptop Background Anyways to carry on I was recently given a Gateway laptop with Windows Vista already installed. Well my laptop wasn't preforming the way I prefered, so my father switched me to windows XP and now my computer preforms much better. Problem Well I have been having a hell of a time with my keyboard. Like when I type, I notice that I have to continuously have to go back over what I'm typing because I didn't push the button I thought I did. And I've noticed that I have push sort of harder than I would on a regular keyboard. But I'm sure that's just something I have to grow accustom to. Now The Real Problem Okay so I apologize again. Yes I do realize that I am babling on like a moron. But now I come to my problem with the Shift key or maybe it's the CAPS Lock key? I'm not entirely sure. I just want to know what it is that I am doing. I pushing something on my keyboard that is turning shift key on permenantly. Not just putting capitols on but it acts as if the shift key is constantly being held. It's frustrating because I try to fix it but I would realize that everything I clicked would be highlighted and (sorry for the lack of actually word) when I used the scrolly thing inbetween the clickers on the mouse it would take me back or forward if I was on the internet. I did find out how to turn the permenant shift off, by pressing the shift key twice. But I'm not sure if those other problems I am running into are connected. And I would really like toknow what I am doing to cause this problem, so that maybe I can prevent it somehow. Because using the laptop keyboard already frustrates me. I'm sure I will eventually just purchase a keyboard that I can plug into my USB port. |
