| Oh yeah I purchased a Compaq 500 Mhz Via Cyrix PC back in 1998 I think. I didn't even know what a processor was back then. I messed with the jumpers while I was installing a cdrw drive. It brought the speed down to like 250MHz. I didn't even know what jumpers were, then I was playing with it the other day just for the heck of it because I was bored and I saw the jumpers. Then I remembered I changed them like two years ago. Oh well Via CPU's suck anyway.

| Here's a blast from the past... while moving out of our office I found a TRS 80 Model 100 "laptop", complete with manuals, optional hard carrying case and Purple Memory expansion kit! When I get some time I'm going to see if it still runs (AFAIK it should be fine: never failed in service)... I guess I've got a "new" portable rig... ![]()

| My first "computer" was an Atari 800 with a 1.79Mhz Processor, 48KB RAM, a 1050 Disk Drive, 4 controllers, and hundreds of awesome games. The massive 130KB disks could hold over 15 Atari games on each of them, and each of them fun and playable. Those were the days (I was 7

| Atari 1200XL 6502 Motorola cpu 64 k memory tape drive etc. I bought this first system in 1983. It was the successor to the Atari 400/800 series, and although it had a nice keyboard, its closed design made it somewhat hard to upgrade. What drove me crazy was the 40 character display (I wanted 80!!). Later: Atari 130XL with 128k memory, and finally in 1988 a PC/XT 286 with 256k of memory. This was the last computer I bought that I did not build myself. These days I build a new system every year or so (I waste an awful lot of money paying for the newest, fastest and most expensive cpu).
