What was your first computer?

This might be interesting.

What was the first computer you ever bought (PC...not going back to Commodores, etc...)?

Mine:
IBM compatible AT (286) - 16MHz
1 MB memory (640K base, 360K extended)
40 MB hard drive (they "just came out")
DOS 4.0
VGA Monitor (they "just came out")
Soon after, got the math co-processor for $70

I was the "king of speed" at the time !!

--------------
First PC system used (at work)
IBM XT, 2 floppy drives (no hard drive)
EGA Monitor

Corona PC Compatible
8088 4.77MHz, 512KB RAM,
Built in Graphics that made it completely incompatible.
Couldn't run half of the software being sold.
bought it with a Gemini dot matrix printer and a daisy wheel printer.
Total cost for all of the above ~$5000
I was living in a one bedroom apartment and going to graduate school.
It would be 4 years before I bought my first car.

1982 -

IBM PC....Not XT Not AT...
Intel 80-086 processor
single 320k 5 1/2 inch floopy drive
256K of RAM.
16 color - CGA monitor
300 BAUD modem
Sound consisted of an occational "beep"

This system rocked. Nothing on it was Microsoft...not even MS-DOS. It was IBM DOS v1.2.

Cost me $2500.00 but work paid for half of it.

BTW....this system still boots.
