Would u like a 82" LCD to go with your order?

Quote:
Samsung Electronics has built what it says is the largest LCD panel yet made and will show it at this week's Cebit show in Hanover, Germany.

The 82-inch widescreen LCD panel supports high-definition and was built on the new seventh generation production line at the factory of S-LCD in Tangjung, South Korea, the company says.
I can see myself playing Madden 2010 (which is when I'd be able to afford such a model) on it right now.

I saw it on a science show last night. It looks about 4 feet tall and 6 feet wide.

They said that it's built using technology that gives it a 180-degree viewing angle. I don't know how you'd see it edgewise, but anyway.

No one has said how much it costs. It seems to be one of those things that if you have to ask, you can't afford it. I'm guessing in the $25k - $30k range. Still, if I had this much money to spend on a display I'd wait for other technologies. LCD has too many limitations.

And you are almost certain to have a dead pixel or two. With something that large, it may not be noticeable, but still, if I paid that much for something I'd want it to be perfect.
