to me this is beginning to look like the player, if the same message comes up on 2 different pc's. Why has it just come up now though? It was working fine this morning

Sounds like the player is messed up. Those files may be gone. Who knows why now? It may just be another application of Murphy's Law, right.

no i dont use the 'safely remove icon' but i will in future, maybe thats the cause of it

Yeah, i have tyred the steps you said with recreating USB sectors and it hasnt fixed it. I also tryed to listen to a few of the audio files that are on the MP3 player and on the screen it says there are 0/0 files. I think its finally died and what a great time for such a thing to happen. Oh well, thanks for the help and quick responce

It may not be dead, all it might need is a reformat to make it work once again. That would fix any corruption pulling it out might have caused. Try reformatting it and loading some MP3s onto it.

I cant format, i go to do it and it says Windows was unable to complete the format. I cant check for errors or defrag it either, it seems i have no acess to it what so ever.

Ok, the plague is spreading through out my PC my sound doesnt work at all now. It did at first and since the reboot, nothing. At the end of the day you gotta laugh at this lol

Check Device Manager, you had a yellow "bang" against a multimedia device, right? Is that still there? I think your sound drivers may be incompletely installed.

Yes, under the 'other devices' and 'Multimedia Audio Controller' section there is a yellow exclamation mark in a yellow circle. I thought i had downloaded the latest drivers but it turns out i havnt. I am downloading them now and the problem should be fixed. Thanks
