Olympus C-720 Camera

I got out my camera today, and it would'nt come on. I put in new battries. It came on fine. I had to re set the date etc. Every thing was fine until I took the first pitcure. Then every thing in the display and the veiw finder was reversed. It was all backwards. I check to see if I had put the battries in wrong, But they wont. I have changed battries again. Still not fixed. Any sugestions?

Thanks Clint

I'm not really familiar with Olympus cameras, but one thing that almost all recent cameras have is a feature to return it to factory settings. It's normally a button combination that you hold down for a while. Check your manual. If yours doesn't have this, or it doesn't work, the next thing is Olympus tech support.

I don't know what to tell you Clint. I have the same camera, but I've never seen that problem.

I just played with it and tried to recreate your problem, but I can't. My only suggestion is set it to the p/a/s/m setting and go into those menus. Those are the only menus that look complex enough to "maybe" cause a problem.

Else, it sounds like an actual problem with the camera.

I called Tech.Support. They said the had never heard of this problem. I had to send it back to Olympus.

Good deal. At least they gave you no guff about it then. I thought that sounded a bit odd. It's good to know Olympus has a decent tech. support policy then, at least.

Olympus C-720 Camera

I got my camera back from Olympus. This is the Technician's comment. " replaced lens assy, adjust AWBl Focus/ ccd defective/uvmatrix general check/clean." What ever that means. anyway it seams to be working ok.
