| Wireless Carriers Shift Plans to Focus on Data Verizon Wireless, AT&T and T-Mobile have all announced plans to revamp their wireless plans with more emphasis on 3G data than on voice, an acknowledgement that the wave of the future is data, not voice communications.... The Verizon rollout comes ahead of its planned 4G launch and is undoubtedly designed to shift to more lucrative data plans than plain old voice. It also turns out to be a stealth price increase.... Both Verizon and AT&T's plans will be effective Monday, January 18. Wireless Carriers Shift Plans to Focus on Data - InternetNews.com

| Re: Wireless Carriers Shift Plans to Focus on Data As long as Verizon keeps my voice plan or an equivalent in place and does not force me to data, I will remain with them. If not I am sure that some plans will emerge from someone in the comm industry. |

| Re: Wireless Carriers Shift Plans to Focus on Data I don't need a data plan either. I don't even text much. Just give me a plain old phone and a plain old plan to go with it.
