Audigy 2 with case This is probably a question that may have been asked before but I am looking to find out the information about the pin outs on the Audigy 2 soundcard so that I can use the sound outputs on my case. I have tried searching the net for this information but I can't seem to find any information about this. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

| Not sure I fully understand, but I am going to guess that you have some front or rear panel case output jacks for speakers/headphones that you want to use instead of the output jacks on the card itself? Looking at a picture of the card compared to what is shown in the manual, you have two choices: 1) Connect to the card jacks and run wires back inside to your case connectors. 2) Get out the soldering iron and connect wire to the through-holes on the board where the jacks are soldered. I don't have an Audigy 2, but performed 2) on another card for case mounted jacks.

I was hoping to use the same pint outs that the platinum expansion drive uses so that I could just plug the card straight in instead of need to solder bits and pieces.

In case you are still looking. I just did the same thing. I have a SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS and a Antec Performance SOHO case. This worked for me. Pin #1 on Soundcard - TPA+ Pin #2 on Soundcard - TPA- Pin #3 on Soundcard - NC (Nothing) Pin #4 on Soundcard - GND Pin #5 on Soundcard - TPB+ Pin #6 on Soundcard - TPB- Pin #7 and #8 - NC (Nothing) Pin #9 on Soundcard - GND Pin #10 on Soundcard - Not Used (no pin there) DO NOT USE the VP connector from the Antec case...this is Power and SoundBlaster cards DO NOT SUPPORT this. (So I have been told) You will have to split the VG(GND) wire from the case..there is one connector that has 2 leads going to 1 connector. (Black wire and a White wire with a black tracer). Be sure you locate Pin #1 correct. good luck.. And remember SoundBlaster cards DO NOT support powered 1394 devices.

i'm looking to do the same thing. the above post is the solution to connect a front firewire port to the audigy 2, but i'd like to connect the front panel audio (headphone/mic ports) directly to the audigy 2 somehow, using the pins on the AD_EXT. has anyone done this successfully and if so, please share how. thanks!

Has anyone discovered the solution I am trying to do the same thing with my Audigy 2 and a CoolerMaster case. I cannot figure out how to wire the front headphone/mic plugs into the sound card. I wrote Creative Labs and was sent a link to an advertisment for their external sound card.... Please let me know if anyone has the pin information for the card or has any solution as to how to wire this case. I know that we could wire in a headphone plug to the front panel connections, run a wire outside of the case and plug it in, but that sort of defeats the purpose of a "clean" install. Thanks in advance for any assistance or suggestions. Scott scott47@usa.net

Well from looking at the pinouts in this link for the breakout box which is the same for the live as the audigy as the firewire plugs into the top port. It appears that the breakout box has the logic chips built on it so it transmits and recieves all digital signals. What that means is their is no way to just connect wires to the pins and get Line-In Line-Out etc.. I have a Live Platinum and Audigy 2 Platinum and the live has a small PCI card with many chips and such on it that plugs in so I would assume as well that it is the same as the Audigy 2 which is just mounted in a Drive bay. Here is the info: http://www.digit-life.com/articles/livetolive51/
