Choose between two digicams I have a choice of keeping my Powershot S200 Canon Elph, or trading it for my gf's new D-535 Olympus Zoom. The first is 2 Megapixels, the second is 3.2. Thanks. Edits: Sorry mods. I posted this in the wrong forum. Can you please move it to Open Chat? Thanks.

Tough call....I did a comparison at imaging resource: http://www.imaging-resource.com/CAMD...submit=Compare Going down the list, I was really big on the Olympus until I got further down and found it reveresed and Canon starting having better features. Doing a pro/con list, I think the features the Canon excelled were more important, so I'd have to go with the Canon.

I think the fact that the canon is made of stainless steel is a bonus onto itself. Also, the Canon allows for manual white balance adjustment, where as the olympus only has auto.

Neither give you manual mode though, which sucks. | |

2MP vs 3.2MP is not much of a difference. Olympus cameras generally have very good image quality, but so do Canon cameras. Not many cameras in this category will give you manual features so I'd go with image quality. I'd go with the Canon, probably a little better construction and lens quality. If your girlfriend likes the stylish silver camera and the photos look about the same, trade them. A close call.

I can;t say much about the particular models but I own 2 Canons and love them both. (s500 +a80). My wife has dropped the s500 prolly 5-6 times and it still works flawlessly. my 2 cents....
