Sound not working on my new build. Help??

I'm using a ASUS M3N-HT Deluxe MB with soundmax sound. Im trying to get the sound to come from the spdif connector to a receiver with no luck. i keep getting the "Cannot find the MMDRIVER.inf file needed to install the drivers in systems 32 directory. Its there and im using windows XP 64bit. The sound WAS coming through the hdmi cable fine until i switched that off. (HDMI is being used for video only to my hdtv. trying to use the spdif for the audio. ANy help would be appriciated.

Re: Sound not working on my new build. Help??

Wow that's a strange motherboard. Onboard video and triple sli. Looks like HDMI sound is Nvidia driven and the spdif is driven by an AD1988B chip. Did you install both drivers? Did you use the latest drivers from the Asus website?

If worse comes to worse why not run the HDMI though a HDMI capable receiver and loose the need for the spdif connection?
