Re: Your $3000 WUXGA choice...!?

Especially if you are a gamer (I am not), and if a slightly wider aspect ratio than WUXGA would be ok (one which is claimed to be "full hd"), I'd recommend the following Sager model, which is about to be released:

Sager NP9850 - Gaming Laptop - Shipping begins Mid-July

I've had two other Sager's over the years, and I've been very pleased in both cases with their combination of performance, reliability, features, customizability, and price. In this case, there are a great many configurations and options you can choose among, which I think typically will put the total price in the $3K area.

And Powernotebooks.com is one of the very best internet-based sellers you could possibly wish for. Check out their ratings at ResellerRatings.com.

Regards,
-- Al

Re: Your $3000 WUXGA choice...!?

Sager NP5797 would be my choice

And what's the deal with all those 1080p screens...?
I'd always take 1920x1200 with more apps space, and watch the blue_ray with black stripes if needed.. guess manufacturers turned to 16:9 as a cheaper solution, instead of 16:10
