The N95 was ok but I wouldnt compare it to the iPhone... but my E71 received positive critical reception with awards including:

I had an N95 as well, but the iPhone is better.

However I really do think the N97 is overall a better phone than the iPhone for what I want in a phone (each to their own ). Plus the N97 will be getting a major firmware upgrade (v20) in October '09 which will add skype and smooth kinetic scrolling, which will improve the aging N95-style interface with bolted on touch capabilities that the N97 currently has with Firmware v12. Plus the N97's camera is excellent, better than the n95's.

Dont get me wrong, the iPhone is great, just dont get sucked into the silky interface and controversial apps store (cant install any other internet browser or music player other than Apple's ones, no skype, etc..)

Well, I got both skype and spotify on my iPhone and it is not jail braked. I got it straight from apples app store. The fact that I can't install another web browser than apples own safari (if this is true, haven't checked it out) doesn't bother me either since it is the best web browser I have tried on any phone so far.

Nokia N97 is a sweet phone, I was going to get that, but then the 3GS came out before the n97 did and I chose to go with the 3GS. This is nothing I regret today. The iphone feels more solid and designed than any nokia. One of the most annoying things with my N95 was that it felt like it had no quality at all. The buttons felt like they were made from the most cheap plastic they could find and like they were to fall off anytime. Also, it looked like a big lump of plastic and it took up a huge amount of space in my pocket. It was just too big!

The nokia had great functions and camera, but overall it wasn't that good. I guess different people like different things.

I am TOTALLY sucked in by this phone...

Perhaps if I had ever used a Nokia 97 I might have a different opinion....

but comparing a 3Gs to a high end Windows Mobile Smartphone (like the one I had) is like comparing a Corvette to a Trabant.....

both will get you there...
