| Oops, luckily I have downloaded IE 6.0.2530.0001 for WinME & Win2K. I think it's a bit faster. Anyway, I am still looking for the new links. Meanwhile, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 goes gold, read here: http://www.infoworld.com/articles/hn...03hnmsgold.xml Well, it seems that I have luckily downloaded the FINAL Version of IE 6. Quoted news: The latest browser from Microsoft, which many thought would ship with the company's new Windows XP operating system in October, is ready on its own with an IE6 gold version -- the production version -- called build 2530.1, to be released August 15th, according to reports. As expected, the controversial Smart Tags -- which were designed to transform words on a Web page into links but drew strong opposition when the links were to Microsoft Web sites -- are not included in IE6......While the new browser does not have some of the controversial and convoluted features originally planned by Microsoft, it does include Platform for Privacy Preferences (P3P) protection, integrated multimedia playback, and automatic picture resizing. The new IE6 browser will also include overhauled search functions; a "Media Bar"; SMIL 2.0 for interactive media; and improved Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) support. The P3P privacy feature allows IE6 users to block third-party cookies -- electronic markers that marketers plant in online computers to track Web surfers' activities. | Here is the result of benchmark from my computer. It looks to me like it loaded build 682. DirectX Version: 8.0 DirectDraw Version : 4.08.01.0682 DirectShow Version: 6.03.01.0400 When I check the directx dialog it lists the same version of dircect x as the benchmark. I don't know what you downloaded, but everything seemed to work just fine for my. Maybe the mean old microsoft finally got to abitboy and he just put something up. If anyone wants the version I downloaded, just email me, and I will attach it in a response. |

| Yep, it is 682 I will email anyone a copy of the file if you are having a hard time finding it. I am still baffled as to why microsh!t would put out a time stamped file that is unremovable? Call it what it is...a virus. I was hoping the boys at symantec would actually come up with an update for it as a joke on microsh!t. |
