Entry-level QuickBooks software is now free

Intuit is making the 2008 version of its entry-level small-business accounting product, QuickBooks Simple Start Edition, free. Previous full versions of the program sold for $99.95.

Re: Entry-level QuickBooks software is now free

I wonder if anyone here is using it. I searched today and saw it FREE, the link is here: http://quickbooks.intuit.com/qb/prod...refCode=330720

I don't know if it is true or not. Also, is it ** Safe, Secure ** for personal use?

I plan to learn how to use it, without further goal; although I might change my mind later.

Re: Entry-level QuickBooks software is now free

I downloaded it, the file is only 547 KB, so I guess it will download the whole program later.

The differences between the Free Edition and the Simple Start Plus 2008 is here: Free Accounting Software - QuickBooks - Overview

The Simple Start Plus 2008 is $99.95, with Plus Pack = checks, online backup, and training CD -- that is the only difference from the Free Edition, according to the webpage above. I haven't dig deeper to see if there is free online training, or I might check the local library for any book training (for Dummies, like me).
