A quick tip for FF users. A couple of times I have had some strange problems with Firefox. Things like the WYSIWYG editor here not working, dropdown menus not functioning properly, slow page load times, etc. If you experience sudden problems like this, that can't be explained, here's how to correct many of them:

  1. Close FF
  2. Go to C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\{random letters}.default\Cache
  3. Delete all cache items
  4. Restart FF
That should fix many strange problems for you. What I am finding is that on occasion the cache files and maps become corrupted for reasons I do not understand. When that happens, FF misreads items in the cache and behaves strangely. Deleting the cache items and maps fixes that. If that doesn't do it, then your preferences files may be corrupted, but I have never seen that problem myself.

Be aware that deleting the cache from the options panel will not fix a corrupted cache map, and hence will not fix some of these problems.

You want all your favorite sites opening when you start FF?

This is what I found out. I have three favorite sites, which I open every day by opening each page in a new tab.

Now, once you have opened all your favorate sites, each in it's own tab, you can have them opening concurrently each in its own tab at start up when you go to Tools, Options and click on Use Current Pages.

As it states, Use Current Pages (plural). I now have all the pages I want when I start FF. Really great.

I was so used to IE, which can open only one page as default (I believe).

Nice one Switch that works great. I know have my.yahoo.com, ABXZone.com and ESPN opening up when I fire up FF. Life is good.

Wanted: Raiders Theme

Would love to have a Raiders theme for FireFox. I'd make one if I knew how, but isn't that what computer geeks are for? Thanks.

I have been using Firefox with extensions for quite a while. Now since I installed win xp sp2 I keep getting the below stuff instead of pics. After a few seconds the pics then come on.

Also when I right click on any web page nothing happens - no menu.

Any tips. Also glad to see KT in on FF.

right now i´m running at 1600x1200 on my 21" monitor and have to change the font size on every 10-15 tabs that opens up when FF starts, done with the Ctrl + Ctrl + and Ctrl mousewheel forward one step, which is abit annoying.

how do you change the font size globally for every tab at the same time in FF and then save it so it gets restored next time you start FF ?

Tools/Options/Fonts and Colors gives you the option to change the minimum font size globally.

You didn't need to do that. Simply uninstall FF, delete the folder C:\Documents and Settings\{user name}\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox, and then go to Start/Set Program Access and Defaults, and set IE back as your default browser.

Click on an already open tab, right click -> "New Tab". It's the same menu that you would use to close a tab (click an open tab, right click -> Close Tab).

You can also close all other tab but the one you're looking at, reload all tabs, just reload the tab you're pointing at.
