Mozilla releases Firefox 3.0 beta 4

The fourth beta of the Firefox 3.0 browser was released Monday and includes more than 900 enhancements over the previous beta, Mozilla announced.

The creator of the open-source browser said the new beta includes improvements to performance and memory usage, fixes for stability, and platform-specific enhancements. Some of the enhancements include a new download manager to make locating downloads easier; a full page zoom feature that allows you to zoom in and out of pages more easily; and integration for Vista, Mac OS X, and Linux that features platform-specific icons, buttons, and other user interface elements

seems faster then Beta 3...one little thing that irks me is the way they have enlarged everything in the address bar drop down list...I prefer the simpler low key approach of just having the web site address by itself and not the big website title that comes with it...takes up too much space and looks corny

Firefox 3 Beta 4 reveals difference in design philosophy to IE8

Mozilla has just released the fourth beta version of its next-generation browser. You can’t help but comparing this new Firefox to Microsoft’s recently released beta version of Internet Explorer 8 and if you look closely, the differences are dramatic from a user perspective. While security was the selling point in both Firefox 2 and Internet Explorer 7, added convenience and performance are clearly the headlines for these new browsers...

Re: Mozilla releases Firefox 3.0 beta 4

I'm thinking if I should download this again.

The reason why I uninstalled was because one of my university websites did not work. The damn browser wouldn't let me take quizzes!

Re: Mozilla releases Firefox 3.0 beta 4

It feels pretty snappy to me. I can hardly wait for the final though.
It broke my Internet Shortcuts and took me a while to figure that out.
Not many extensions work with it yet either...but it's very quick.
