| Nero 6 - Upgrade - v7, 8 or 9? I have been using Nero 6 on my main PC (XP Pro) for years and am quite happy with it. I am going ot go to Vista or Win 7 on my next upgrade and Nero 6 is not compatible. I wish it was. I use Nero Burning ROM, Recode and sometimes Vision. I don't need the rest of the bloatware. I tried the trial version of 9 on my daughter's Vista PC and it was extremely slow installing and opening. I was not impressed. Any opinions on which version (7, 8 or 9) I should use and why? TIA.

| Re: Nero 6 - Upgrade - v7, 8 or 9? I installed Nero 9 on Windows Vista Ultimate 64 bit the day it came out...way back during version 9.0.0.0. The latest build 9.2.6.0) released in December of 08 is VERY GOOD and VERY stable. I have used all versions of Nero since v4.5 and still love this software. As far as versions...I would go with 9. Look around and you can get some good deals where you can pick 9 up for practically nothing (with rebates...which I have always received in a timely fashion from Nero). If the version on your CD is NOT 9.2.6.0, you can go to the homepage Nero - leading digital media solutions, CD burning software, DVD burning software - Official Site and download the latest and install with your CD Key. 9 has the Vista Aero look with transparencies and all. As far as module functionality...no issues for me...had very few along the way... Example...here is frys.com price through Friday 5/30/09. FRYS.com FREE after rebates....pretty much all you would pay is shipping Good Luck Bob Last edited by bobmitch; 05-26-2009 at 12:49 AM.. |

| Re: Nero 6 - Upgrade - v7, 8 or 9? Thanks bobmitch. Do you know if that's the full version with Burning ROM, Recode, Vision, etc., or is it a "lite" version. I checked the Nero site and they only show one version of 9, but just want to be sure. Sounds too good to be true.

| Re: Nero 6 - Upgrade - v7, 8 or 9? It is the full suite...soup to nuts. I think the only extra that you buy is the Blu Ray module...but this is the full version...Frys does this alot with Nero Bob |

| Re: Nero 6 - Upgrade - v7, 8 or 9? Bob, Thanks for the input. Update: I ended up getting 7 Ultra. It is Vista compatible, does everything I need it to do (Burning ROM, Recode & Vision) and is relatively bloat free and snappy, compared to 9. I am happy with it.
