This has caught several people in the long CC thread so it must not be obvious from their website. It sure doesn't help that they have so many versions.

| Is this thread intended to be a "refinement and compilation" of this thread? http://www.abxzone.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1002097#post1002097 if so, a categorised version was way overdue, as the thread was quite unwieldy...I'm thinking the final list will be a good asset to any "geek'....

A lot of utils in that thread are just ones that some people found and thought were cool. This is "meant" to be real utilities that ABXers are using and to compile them into a list....instead of searching through a long thread to find things. I'm sure there will be much overlap though.

| I'll add another good site to look for tweak software and shareware is the following. http://www.snapfiles.com/ For Zip Software I use Powerarchiver. http://www.powerarchiver.com/ For a system information tool/memory benchmark I use Everest Home Edition. http://www.lavalys.com/ I wouldn't want to be without these utilities or websites. I also use Screenprint Gold for doing screen captures. http://www.softwarelabs.com/ I hope this helps.

| FireDaemon I started using this primarily for my FTP Server application (BulletProof FTP Server) This also works great for Folding - Distributed Computing Link HERE: What Is It "FireDaemon is a utility that allows you to install and run virtually any native Win32 application or script (eg. BAT/CMD, Perl, Java, Python, TCL/TK) as a Windows NT, 2000, XP, 2003 & Longhorn service. FireDaemon features easy configuration (via GUI or XML), a low memory/CPU overhead, subprocess prioritisation, custom environments, CPU binding plus monitoring and logging to the event log and on-disk log files" -wayne
