| Re: OpenSuse 11.1 I just finished booting into 11.1 for the first time. My initial impression is posted as part of the openSUSE 11.0 thread here. I will post more in this thread as I delve into the system and play around with the various applications and system features. |

| Re: OpenSuse 11.1 FF, you should get rid of the xine and kaffeine packages that come with opensuse. Add the packman repository and use the packages from there. You probably also need libdvdread to play dvd's. It might be also better to disable the vlc repository, because it can conflict with the packman repo. To add the packman repo, go in a root shell and : Quote:

| Re: OpenSuse 11.1 He, a new version, new problems to encounter. This time at first everything went abolutely smooth. Download O.K. Image burned O.K. Installed O.K. First boot. Everything looking good, desktop, symblos, taskbar, mouse-courser. An up comes that dreadfull bluetooth-icon in the right corner, and keyboard and mouse resist every attempt to make them do what they are supposed to do. Well, in fact keyboard and mouse are doing the right thing. The don't talk as bluetooth-keyboard and mouse to everyone. So you need to either have the right software that enforces a trusted connection to keyboard and mouse, or don't use the bluetooth connection and therfore use the hub's inbuilt PS/2-translater (so you can use keyboard in bios for example). openSuse 11.1 use bluetooth per default. If i would be connecting my mobile phone with the pc to synchronize things or whatever i may be happy about that fact. But in my case this means that i either have to reinstall 11.1 but disable bluetooth by not installing it, or have to connect a ps/2-keyboard and mouse to disable/uninstall bluetooth. Greetings Dru P.S.: Do you also had the "winter-theme" for the bootloader?

| Re: OpenSuse 11.1 The openSUSE winter theme appears pretty much all of the time in the weeks around Christmas and occurs less in the weeks before and after that time period. The rest of the year it does not appear. |

| Re: OpenSuse 11.1 Pulse Audio seems to be one of those things that works for some people and does not work for others. This could be due to hardware differences, configuration differences, or even the applications that use it. It is technically superior in theory if not in practice, and someday should work well for everyone. |

| Re: OpenSuse 11.1 Attached a USB mouse to my rig and opend the bluetooth-app by double clicking the bluetooth-icon in the lower right corner. There i was able to "connect" to my bluetooth mouse and keyboard. After a reboot i had to again use the USB-mouse to remove and connect my bluetooth combo again, so i decide to uninstall everything bluetooth from my rig. Now keyboard and mouse are working flawless. My D-Link G510 card worked "out of the box" with this release of opensuse, next thing i have to try is to get the X-Fi card running. Greetings Dru
