| getting rid of boot screen I recently tried to load a windows vista beta but there were errors before I even got to formatting so I decided it was bound to be more work then it was worth especially when I have found no way to activate it before the 15 days. Anyway, now I am stuck with a boot option type screen at start up between "legacy" win xp or continue vista setup. I tried to delete it from BOOTCFG but I only read one OS when I quary/?. Any help would be appreciated thanks

| Not a vista buff, but I think you may be in for a complete reinstall of XP. Sounds like that may be your only option. ![]()

| naw I know there must be a way to get rid of it I just don't know the code and I have a feeling it is new vista stuff. My puter works fine. The screen is a slight annoyance only. certainly not reason to format.

| no. bootcfg is a command prompt utility. BOOTCFG quary/?. will tell you a list of installed operating systems. I only show my one working xp. The screen I have to deal with is a result of a botched vista partial install. I will probably just end up living with it since it doesn't seem to hurt anything but would be nice to get rid of.

| I misunderstood, I thought you were stuck in a install loop. My bad. I agree with Ozzie though, just edit the boot.ini and you won't be bothered with it.
