| Well Bad news guys, they lied. I was told I would recieve a copy of XP beta but that was only half of it. They will be sending it to me in 6-8 weeks. Oh well I had already signed up and should be able to download the beta version this month which I had paid for previosly. I do how ever have to say that what was show at the extream convention was VERY VERY impressive. I will be one of the first in line when this baby comes out.....Some awsome features and so many added items. One major promblem......After leaving the convention I decided to go for the office XP and went down and shelled out $410 for the professional -special edition. I love it, has alot of added stuff...............BUT I had to reinstall it 2 times to get some of the software conflicts worked out. Guess what? You have to activate this software and after doing this more than 2 times you have to call a 800 number, be on hold for almost an hour and then explain why you need to reinstall it. They did how ever give me a new code and everthing works great........NOW! I knew there would be some crap like this and had heard the rumors but for those of us who seem to format due to trying to tweak hardware, it will be a nightmare in the future (this will also go for windows XP). As soon as I get XP up and running Ill be posting what some of the conflicts are. For those who want to get a head start check these newsletters out....... XP Newsletters |

| I have re-installed XP at least 9 times in the last month trying to get rid of ACPI and never picked up the phone once, I just keep clicking "register online" and it keeps saying "thank you for registering" finally got rid of ACPI by the way and the SB Live crackling is gone......

| Huh Your telling me that you have reinstalled officexp and never got the message "all ready active", and you have to call the 800 number to get a approval code from them? I have the proffesinal "special edition" and I had to do that after 2 times....wierd. If your talking about windowsxp then you dont have to do that right now, Its in the beta version for trial. You will how ever have to do this once it comes out in Oct. Thats the information I recieved yesterday at the convention. Thank god for the poping noise being gone, its terrible! |

| I ordered XP RC1 and RC2 online and it went through fine but they have not charged my credit card yet. Has anyone had the same problem? It leaves me wondering if they received my order. It did give me a confirmation online when I ordered it. I don't want to order it twice but I also don't want to have to wait extra long to get it either. Jericho |

| This is a copy of an e-mail I recieved from MS after I registered for RC1 & 2 in early March. Congratulations! You will be one of the first to experience the new Windows. As a member of the Windows XP Preview Program you will receive a copy of Windows XP Professional Release Candidate 1 and 2. Microsoft expects the software to be available in the June to July timeframe. Read the Windows XP Preview Program Newsletter, and browse www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/preview <http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/preview> for news and availability updates. Your credit card will be billed when the software will become available to you. If you received this mail in error, please send e-mail to wpphelp@microsoft.com <mailto:wpphelp@microsoft.com>
