| Hope someone can figure this system tray problem out. I'm having problems getting a calendar program named "Taskplus" to put it's icon in the system tray by the clock on boot up. This worked on my P4P800E PC which recently died so I'm trying to get it to work on my P4C800E PC now. The way it should work is on boot up, Taskplus is automatically started and it displays it calendar with reminders on the screen. It puts an icon with the current date in the system tray. When the display is closed by clicking the red X at the top right, it leaves the date icon in the system tray. On my P4C800E PC, it puts the date icon in the task bar at the bottom between the quick launch bar and the system tray. But when I close the display, the date icon disappears. If I run Taskplus again, it just does the same thing again. So here's what I found out so far: I close Taskplus and then press ctrl-alt-del to bring up the Task Manager. In the "Processes" tab I see an entry for Taskplus. Why is this entry running in the "Processes" tab when I closed TaskPlus? I think this is the root of the problem. I delete that entry. Now if I run Taskplus, it works properly. It puts its date icon in the system tray and leaves it there when I close it. I tried this: I removed Taskplus using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. I used regedit to delete every line that contained "Taskplus" in the registry. I also deleted every reference to "ContactPlus" who supplies Taskplus. I rebooted and installed Taskplus but the exact same problem happens. Hope someone can figure this out, Skyhawk |
