How do I prevent XP from "auto mapping" network drives?

This is an example of XP's and M$'s pain-in-the-a--s--s pretend improvements.

I just noticed that when I access another computer's hard drive partition over the LAN, it shows up as a newly added line item under "My Network Places" in the Explorer folder tree. I don't want it to show up automatically if and whenever I access a file over the LAN. If I access something a lot, I'll map it. Otherwise I'll get it through "Entire Network".

So how do I prevent this "auto mapping" from clogging up my tree with every obscure partition on my LAN?
