| Make so Win2k dosn't give the same IRQ to the components...? I have a problem with my RAID and a lagg-problem and I think it is that Win2k gives many components the same IRQ. Someone know where I can find a guide to fix this thing? (I know it was something with ACPI) (I know my english is bad) |

| Fluffy hi there..i searched for some ACPI stuph and came up with a few forum posts from about the net, butno real "articles" so far... i know htat if you reinstall windows 2000 with the /s switch, ie "setup /s" you can choose to install as a non ACPI system, i also read that hitting F5 before the "press F6 for other boot devices" screen gives you a choice of which computer type to set up. the system control panel will allow you to change the computer type to non acpi, but i have read conflicting reports on how successful it can be that way. couple links i did find were: http://pvr.gamestats.com/cgi-bin/iko...um=1&topic=479 http://198.95.255.5/NonCGI/Forum13/HTML/000032.html and this page from the win2k section here: http://www.asusboards.com/forums/sho...disabling+ACPI hope it helps good luck cryogen

| Can't you just override the OS by setting Plug & Play OS to 'No' in the BIOS and then either let the BIOS auto-assign IRQs or do the assigning manually? The BIOS probably won't put multiple cards on the same IRQ, but even if it does you can choose to assign them manually Please note that Win2k still will report everything on IRQ9 after using the BIOS to assign IRQs. This has something to do with its PCI steering or something like that, but it holds no influence as long as you have set Plug & Play OS to 'No' in the BIOS.

| Forgot something... I just forgot to mention that you should keep your driver disks/CDs ready after changing the IRQs in the BIOS. Sometimes Windows wants to install all your cards again
