| Microsoft's Updates; I'm running XP and some of you know that I downloaded SP3 recently. Right now my computer is downloading an update and it has been doing this all day. It's only at 11% now and it doesn't seem like I can stop it or find out what this update is. I do have my computer set to ask before downloading so I probably checked on this. But I can't understand why it is taking so long. I do have a wireless DSL connection on both my notebook and my desktop. Is there any way I can stop this nonsense? Or at least find out what it is downloading? Russ |

| Re: Microsoft's Updates; Nothing earth shattering. Right now I have the "Automatic Up-dates" turned off because if I don't my system will start downloading any new up-dates and take all day to do it. It seems to want to stop at about 7%. I've even gone to MS's Up-date site and tried to manually do the up-dates with the same results. I had the option "Notify me of any new up-dates, but don't download" checked. But when I tell it to download the up-date, it just goes to about 7% and stops. Russ |

| Re: Microsoft's Updates; You can set it to identify the update before you install it if that helps. Oops, I still you have already tried that. Sorry! Does it do it on all updates?
