| Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications For some days I have been getting a blurb at boot about "Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications." It wants to install some software on my computer. I have been cancelling the download for fear that it may screw something up. I have a totally legitimate copy of XP. Should I go along with the download, or is there indeed a risk that it may create a problem?

| Re: Windows Genuine Advantage Notifications You'll need to install it to go to the update site yourself to 'actively' pick-up updates (as opposed to picking them up via automatic update). In theory it shouldn't cause a problem, but who knows for sure. If you don't want to see it just click to install and then do not agree to the 'conditions', and it won't appear anymore.
