| Audio Stopped Working in Vista (AC'97 A8N-SLI Premium) I have a dual boot system, the audio works fine in Windows XP but stopped working this week in Vista for no apparent reason. I have re-installed various versions of the Realtek ALC850 AC'97 audio driver with no effect. I know that is the correct chip and driver. I also uninstalled and re-installed the Combined Community Codec Pack. The Realtek AC'97 speakers are enabled as the default playback device. I have tried disabling the others (ATI HDMI output device and the Realtek digital output). When I slide the volume control in the system tray there are faint popping/static sounds. Windows Media Player returns a driver error when trying to play MP3's. Any help would be appreciated.
