| Can I turn off? I love my computer and I'm an avid gamer, with that said I had to go to Vista to teach my self about it for work. I've pretty much done all the tweaks that u guys have suggested but I there is one annoying thing. I play some pretty intensive games, Ut2, cod4, etc. When I start up a game it turns my scheme to vista basic. I've noticed that when exiting a game that the change back to vista Aero (my language my not be right for all of this bare with me) can sometimes lag the computer to crap and/or cause random crashes, I'm assuming that so many resources have to dedicated towards the game that the computer runs dry. I've tried turning aero off, changes some scheme settings and what not. But no matter what I do it still goes to the basic settings when going into a game. If there any way around this? System Specs AMD x2 5600+ @ 3010mhz 2gigs ddr2800 (oc'd slightly to get the cpu up to 3010ghz) Asus m2n-e mobo Asus 8800GT vid card 2 seagate hd's 120g 250g 22in widescreen samsung and an old crt for secondary monitor. Thanks guy. |

| There's an expert gamer here in this forum that may be able to help you better than I can, but may I suggest trying running your CPU at normal speed. Also, ensure you have all the latest updates, including the motherboard BIOS.

| Many games and programs are not AERO Compatible.. and the reason for the crash is. (Memory must be flushed -game removed) prior to going back to Aero. which uses the memory... I suggest you 1 make a shortcut to set the computer to Basic then play all your games.... then when not playing games go back to AERO... It is a memory problem... not the program nor is it Vista. but the GAME/program. I have several games - programs which switch. I have not had this crash problem since I forced my memory to be fixed/solid. You might have to play with the setting till you find the correct mix. I also found it much easier to simply change default to "Basic.. and forget Aero".
