IE7 shortcut. Use Ctrl+Enter keys of your keboard to add the "www." and ".com" in the address bar. For example, if you type "home" in the addres bar and then press Ctrl+Enter keys, you get "http://www.home.com/".

I like and use Windows Live Mail Desktop, the only thing I have yet to figure out is how to keep copies of emails in the server. I been using my Hotmail account with Windows Live Mail since MS began the beta program many "moons" back. Now when I use Live Mail Desktop, it downloads all the emails, but do not keep a copy in the server. I like keeping a copy in the server just in case something happens to my PC, or if I need to access the same file from another PC. With Windows Live I get 2GB of space, so there's no need to delete emails.

By the way, those who have a Hotmail or MSN email account should use it with Windows Live Mail. It's the perfect companion alongside Vista.

move the store folder..

Prior to Installing Live Mail. I set all my emails to use a total different place to save other than default...in Live Email --> right corner --> show menu -->
Tools --> options--> advanced --> maintenance --> storefolder -- change to a different HD\folder\subfolder "G:\email\vista_mail" works for me... find the .dbx and open with your email default...reader..

Set Defaults

You can choose or change the applications that you would like to run with IE7, e.g. e-mail, play music, CD-burning, etc.
This is how:

1. Open IE7
2. Click the Tools > Internet Options > Programs tab
3. Under Internet programs, click Set programs
4. Choose one of the four categories: Set your default programs; Associate a file type or protocol with a program; Change AutoPlay settings; Set programs access and computer defaults.
5. Click OK when finished.

You are very welcome Snuffy; Glad it worked for you.

If you would rather not use the forward and left arrows in IE7 to go forward or backwards between WebPages, there’s an alternative. Simply hold down the “Shift” key on your keyboard and use your mouse wheel to scroll forward or backwards.

In IE7, if you are reading something and must leave your PC for some reason, but want to come back to that one page or to multiple pages (tabs) later on, simply instruct IE7 to open the particular page(s) the next time you open the browser.

Here’s how:

1. Close IE7
2. At the prompt titled “Do you want to close all tabs?” click Show Options.
3. Select “Open these the next time you open Internet Explorer”.

I really can't tell you. How can one open IE7 with no tabs? I tried it, but there's always at least on tab open, even if it's just a blank page.

You can create a favorites group containing all WebSites currently open in IE7 by using the Add Tab Group to Favorites link. Here's how:

1. Click the Add to Favorites or use the Alt+Z key combination
2. Click "Add Tab Group to Favorites"
3. Name the tab group
4. Select which folder to place the group
5. Press Add

Don’t like the idea of having IE7 remembering names and passwords on forms; then you must deselect this option. Here’s how:

1. Open IE7 and select Tools, Internet Options
2. On the Content tab and under AutoComplete click on Settings
3. Deselect “User names and passwords on forms

If you want to see hidden files in a folder follow these steps:

1. Open Documents
2. Click the Alt key to bring up the classic menu
3. Go to Tools then click Folders options
4. Go to the View tab and click Show hidden files and folders

Note: If you want to unhide file extensions, uncheck Hide extensions for known file types when you get to step 4 above.

You can select a search engine from a list of search engines in IE7 or you can "create your own", like from your Internet service provider, CNN, FOX NEWS, etc. To select or create your own search engine do the following:

1. Open IE7
2. Go to the Search box, upper right hand side
3. Click the down-arrow and select Find More Providers
4. Select a provider or use the Create Your Own tool to the right of the list and follow the instructions.
