Thanks Anthony. I do a lot of online research, use Vista's Help and Support and through trial and error. The best tip the I can give anyone, and I believe that Davehc and others mentioned this, is to use Vista's Help and Support. Even in the days of DOS, the help section has so much to offer. From using Vista through solving problems, the Help and Support section is the first place one should go to. I an apple a day can keep the doctor away, the Help and Support section can help keep your PC running in top shape.

You can change between applications by pressing Alt+Tab keys combination. If your PC meets the requirements to use the Aero interface, you can change between applications by using Flip 3D; just press the Windows Logo+Tab combination.

Want to quickly maximize or minimize an open window? Instead of using the “maximize or minimize” button, double-click the window's title bar.

On at least two previous posts, I mentioned about the Quick Launch toolbar. What I failed to mention is that using the Quick Launch toolbar instead of the Start button can save you lots of time. For example, if you have a few applications that you use constantly, you can place them on the Quick Launch toolbar for fast one-click access. You can place a shortcut of just about any application on the Quick Launch toolbar, e.g. email, word, excel, IE, sniping tool, paint, Firefox, defrag, recycle bin, control panel, disk cleanup and anything else you can think of. The good part about it is that those are just shortcuts, so you can erase them at anytime without harming the application.

If you are like most, you like to get your applications going as soon as the PC is turn on. You can save valuable time by using the Sleep and Hibernate features...don't boot up every time you turn on your PC. Also, keep applications open, e.g. email, word, excel, IE, Firefox or any other application. Make sure to save your work, but leave the application(s) open. It will save you some precious time the next time you bring your PC back from Sleep or Hibernation mode.

Here is another time saving tip. If you have many documents open from the same application, e.g. PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc., you can switch between each document by pressing the Ctrl+F6 key combination.

Especially if you have a small monitor, you can rip the benefit of IE7 full screen by using the F11 key to toggle back and forth to full screen. This gets all the useless items off your screen, providing you a better view of what you really want to see. Also, when using the new search box feature in IE7, after you enter your search criteria, press the Alt+Enter keyboard keys combination so your search can appear in a new tab.

Disabling the Built-in Administrator AccountOriginal equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and system builders are required to disable the built-in Administrator account before delivering the computers to customers.

When you run the sysprep /generalize command, all account information is removed from the computer, including the built-in Administrator.

The next time the computer starts, the built-in Administrator account will be disabled.

Question Incase you want to enable Admin Account

Quote:
Use the Local Users and Groups MMC console

Change the properties of the Administrator account by using the Local Users and Groups MMC console.

Open the MMC console and select Local Users and Groups.

Right-click the Administrator account and select Properties. The Administrator Properties window appears.

On the General tab, uncheck the Account is Disabled box.

Close the MMC console.

Administrator access is now enabled.

Just in case you want to put Admin back..No idea why you would want Admin Ability back...

Most of us spent hours in front of a monitor without thinking about the consequences. There is a lot we can do to ensure we don't cause any damage to any part of our body, especially hands and back, when using a computer. MS has an excellent site that everyone who uses a PC should read to ensure a healthy computing while using Vista or any other OS.

Got to http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/hcg/hcg_view.mspx

Would you rather press one key at a time when for example pressing Shift to type a capital letter or CTRL+ALT+DEL to view the task manager? Then use Vista’s StickyKeys. Open Ease of Access Center and click the “Make the keyboard easier to use” link. Place a check mark on “Turn on Stick Keys”. To setup some options click the “Set up Sticky Keys” link just below the “Turn on Sticky Keys” option.
