Santa is play on sata. Some people are more trusting and don't see the forest from the trees. I wanted to see how long it went on.

I usually try to figure out when people have those vanity plates so MoDaFoCa is not too hard.

I thought as much, but that was such a simple explanation that I was hoping there was more too it. Since I don't know that much about computers, it seemed a possibility, however slight.

OK, it looks like you've done lots of things you could do (though the presence of a specialist might help: you've nothing to loose).
By the way, are you sure your dvd is really bootable? Could you boot with it on another system? (booting won't cause anythying bad)

If you dvd is really not bootable... well I don't now what to say; how did you get it? Did you successsfully boot from it when you installed your OS?
If your dvd is really bootable, can you trust your dvd drive? Can you try another one?

have you got your OS cd in your dvd drive in the first place? because you need your bootable OS cd and not any cd with the os and many other things in it
