Hmmm ... Some of the tweaks mentioned there can leave your machine weakened or vulnerable. Try How To Make Windows Vista Start Run Shutdown Faster.

Rather soft spoken but TRUE.
THIS IS THE PERSONAL OPINION OF Snuffy ...
If you want to totally SCREW up, VISTA visit this site and continue... I do not recommend this site nor the use of the mentioned 10 Speed Tweaks,
Honestly is should be 10 way to make sure you will have problems ... <|>
#1. actually makes your system slower for everyday use... only faster on Boot. (Reviews show 99.6% of all Vista systems boot in under 3 min.)
#2. Remote compression actually during tests on LARGE Files, makes very little difference... I have tested with Files up to 5GB and the difference is very slight...10 to 12s at most. Seems better for accuracy..to have working.
#3. I like my Malware protection. why would you disable.
#4. Auto Defrag... OK I have mine shutoff...
#5. Seems a waste of money... and Flash drive works in some cases and in some cases it actually slows down performance...
#6. I have Hibernation Off. but during tests. I have seen no difference to compare on Performance BOOST. I simply do not use Hibernation.
#7. OK, reinstall or Format and Install, or repair plus loose many other options.
this is TOTALLY for those that FORMAT and Reinstall every month any way.
#8. Annoying and worth the annoyance, 99% of the common users have no idea what spyware, malware, trojan, or other (must be ok It came with Nero or came with Yahoo), great way to become a NetBot... and wonder why your system begins to fail and get slow... why all the porn sites suddenly show up... and popups are enables.
#9. Disable excess Windows Services that Auto-Launch at Startup
How the hell does the average user know what is needed or not... Oh yes read this "How to Tweak Article."
#10. Disable Excess Windows Features - read this article and then ask why all the ppl have Fax, scan, print problems. -

By all means visit the site... read the why items, then use SEARCH on VB and many other FORUMS and see how many folks suddenly need assistance on "Is started yesterday, or suddenly for no reason, W.T.F.H. , I did nothing but now my computer is borked.....

Turning off Windows Defender and UAC is not a good idea.
