That is strange, when I first put my extra 2gigs in, it only showed 3.4gigs so I enabledd the mem remap in bios and it has shown 4.095gigs ever since.

I'm too tired and lazy tonight to post a screen shot, but on the below specs I get all 5.9's except for the CPU score which is a not so smoking 4.4. It's definately becoming a dual core or better world.

My E6600 core 2 only gets a 5.5, too ignorant to get it OC'ed just yet.
Thats pretty nice SpeedDMN.

Thanks At least some of my hardware isn't quite antiquated yet. I think that was the score of the badaxe/E6600 build I did too at stock speeds. trying to remember exactly, but I think I got the Index score up to 5.7 with an OC to around 3.0g. I was thinking about getting an FX/60, but since it's the highest end for socket 939 it still comes at a premium. I can't see spending $500 on such an old chip, but it's the only way I could go without changing platforms. The optys are less so I guess that could be another dual core consideration.

5.7 huh?
One of these days I will figure out all of the new settings I need to tweak.
I had it down with my CUSL2 this machine just replaced, but the new machine has alot of settings I am ignorant of. Also, I need to replace my heatsink as it is lightly resting on some of the surrounding capacitors.
I have a mini vertical mill in the garage that I could use to give it clearance, just never got around to it.

One day.

I am definatlely not an OC authority. A monkey can get a decent OC off a C2D chip though. Simply up the percentage and away you go. I like easy. I am thinking EPP memory for my next build too whenever that may be. OC'ing my present rig takes much more time and patience and lots of BSOD's to even get a 300mhz OC. (for me anyway) I have heard of people getting the FX/57 up to 3.6g (2.8 stock) but these were serious pros using liquid nitrogen and such.

Excellent----never even thought of eBay-----and with the new Intels coming out----that is a great suggestion......

Will work great on my AB9 QuadGT mobo as the new 1333 Intels probably won't (Abit won't say yes or no either way.....)

Probably the best "affordable" chip that mobo can do.....

But it's still a quad processor----and a doozey to boot....
