Thanks for your help...now I understand...I was thinking before that is had to be extracted to a particular folder, but it does not...all I have to do is extract it to the C: drive itself...Thanks again

To clean additional data streams (ADS tags) on NTFS partitions you need to do the following:

-download packed utility Klstreamremover.zip extract the file into root folder of the partition, where you plan to clean ADS

-run Klstreamremover.exe with parameter -r (for example go to menu Start -> Run -> here type c:\klstreamremover.exe -r and press Enter)

-wait until the utility finishes working

when they say "extract the file into root folder of the partition, where you plan to clean ADS" which folder are they talking about??

-I heard of another good program that will also do this called NTFS Streams Eraser but I can't seem to find this anywhere

i found it here on the bottom of the page

I am having a heck of a time trying to decide whether I should pay for KAV Personal Pro. I know that it's highly rated, but $66 a year (or whatever it is) is an awful lot IMO. Anyone else take the plunge for the Personal Pro version?

Looks like Pupkin's just trying to do his part to keep ABX alive.

Admittedly, it might be more helpful if he taught us Russian first, though.

Re: AntiVir, Avast, AVG, NOD32 and Kaspersky test update

I'm using KAV2009 which I got on sale at BB for $10
I use Comodo's Free firewall.

They have both bagged potential problems on my system (Kaspersky even catches security bulletins on the software you are running!).

Re: AntiVir, Avast, AVG, NOD32 and Kaspersky test update

I have been usingf AVG Free for a while now with no major issuse except everyonce in a while says it failed the updated and I have to manually install it. But other than that it is free.

Avast just completly screwed up one of my old P4 machines running XP PRO.
That is what i get for stepping out of the box I guess.

I'm still using Kaspersy Anti-Virus 2009...very happy with it...there's really only 2 options for me in terms of antivirus- Kaspersky or NOD32...apparently NOD32 uses a bit less resources but I'm happy with Kaspersky...for my firewall I just use my router

Which of these works well with Vista64? I have read both of those are the best.

I am on a trial period with MS Live OneCare.

I've been using Kaspersky 2009 with Vista Business 64-bit for 7-8 months now with no issues at all...havn't tried NOD32 but I'm sure it'll be compatible with 64-bit systems as well...apparently Kaspersky has a slightly higher virus detection rate but NOD32 has a smaller footprint...so it's a tradeoff

I'm running Avast free on Vista 64 and have zero problems with it.
