IPX setup I've read the Securing Windows XP guide and various threads about using IPX to secure WFPS. The guide says that both WFPS and the Win Net Client should be unbound from TCP/IP and bound to IPX. One thread relating to setting up IPX suggested that only WFPS should be unbound from TCP and bound to IPX. What's the right answer?

Both should be unbound. Moving thread to Security Forum.

OK, I've unbound both from TCP and bound them to IPX on both machines on my net. They can't see each other. For what it's worth, they could see each other when bound to TCP. Don't know what to do. Both machines on WXPP-SP2 connected to a router w/WAP (one of the machines uses wireless). I'm at the frontier of my knowledge. What to do?

Have you set passwords on both systems, and users with permissions for both? And, btw, did you reboot both systems after unbinding TCP from both?

OK, as promised, I did a lappy setup following the instructions in our Guide, and had no problems. Here's what I would like you to do because sometimes Explorer has to be pushed into seeing other computers on your LAN. Go to Start/Search/For Files or Folders. At the bottom left of the Find window you will see "Computers or people". Click on that, and the window changes, giving you an option for "A computer on the network". Click on that and it changes again - enter the computer name on into the box and click on search. See if it finds the computer you are trying to access. See the following screen shots for more details.
