Good find, Brian! BTW, moving this to Security leaving a redirect in Applications - that way multiple forums refer to it.

Does the prior version have to be deleted before installing the new one?

Thx.

Yes, you should uninstall the old version first.

I use AdAware and SpyBot and update both once per week. With SpyBot, after I udate I click immunize...

Should I install SpywareBlaster as well? If I do, any smart tips on how to use it?

When you click the left-side immunise button, and you change to the Immunize function, there is an active progress bar that can mislead you to think the function was run. You still need to push the immunize button at the top of the function. (This is just in case you were mislead. I was for a while.)

Spybot and SpywareBlaster may contain different items in their "bad products" list. And, there's really no performance penalty, as they don't run in the background, but rather configure your system to reject the bad products. So, unless you just object to having yet another program that requires regular updates, it wouldn't hurt to run both programs.

I don't know about the latest version yet (away from home), but the version of SpywareBlaster that I have doesn't seem to work right when you go to the individual sections, check the boxes, and enable the protections that way. No new protections seem to get added. Fortunately, there's a "link-like" control that says "Enable all protections". That works fine. Of course, I may be doing something wrong, too.
