I need some help with Flash? Where to go? Hey there gang. Now that my server is running completely on donations, I would like to create a flash movie for the webpage to show where the server's savings stand. Basically, it's a VERY simple flash movie. I want it to be a simple meter that fills up, or empties, depending on the value that's set in a data file (aka a text file). The data file really only needs to be one float value, which would represent the dollar amount in the server's account. Does this make sense? Now, I'm sure no one has the time to create this, which is fine, so I wanted to create it myself. The only problem is I have a lot of questions about flash and how this would work. Does anyone either know of a reputable online resource I could use, or perhaps allow me to IM them all my questions? It would be VERY appreciated, and my entire clan would love you for it.

What version of Flash are you using? Here is a site that shows how to retrieve data from a text file. http://www.permadi.com/tutorial/flash4readtext/ That site is directed at Flash ver 4/5.

Oh, I'm sorry. I should've said. Flash MX 2004. It's a trial version, but I'll be able to do what I need to do in 30 days. Once I have it set up and working properly, I won't need to touch flash again for awhile.
