They really do make you superfast....but damn that "blinding" part sucks....they can't be worn at night or in dust storms.

Keep playing! You'll get a constant effect Night Eye ring eventually.

I got one from the main guy at Fort Moonmoth. I had to kill 5 bad people in the Council Club. Tried to taunt them into attacking me with no luck. Just attacked them first and paid my fines.

Well, I did it by enchanting (or finding) items that had a high resist magicka rating.
At some point in the game when you visit a certain wizard for a specific reason (I won't spoil it for you, it's in the main quest) be certain to have either a highly rated unlock spell or scroll (at least a "50") and raid a downstairs (and thankfully unguarded) vanity of his for the Cuirass of The Saviors Hide, and handy-dandy and powerful piece of light armor with a high resist magicka rating. You can use that piece as a base with a ring or other item to get your resist rating up to where you can use the boots all the time.
With your natural class resist rating you shouldn't need much more than the Cuirass and another strong item.

Question: Why are my personality and luck attribute in red? I can't find any reason for that in the book....their numbers don't seem abnormally low or anything.

Ideas? (see pic attached)

You were likely hit by a spell that damaged those attributes. If its effects weren't too bad you can "rest" it off, otherwise you'll need to find a potion or spell to cure the effects or just reload a previous save game and go back to the fellow who did this to you and beat the **** out of him...without taking damage, of course.

Hmmm.....I don't "think" so....when you are damaged by a spell or disease, it appears in the "affects" over on the right side, and there are no "negative" effects on me (except the blindness from the boots).

These attributes have been red for quite a while....I've gone through the last 3 or 4 levels without them changing and I've been chosen those attributes to increase when gaining a level and they are still in red.

I'll think about it. I don't recall an attribute damaging effect that I couldn't overcome without resting, quaffing a potion or casting a spell.
It may be something I've forgotten because I haven't played Morrowind in a while, having spent the last couple of months on Neverwinter Nights and its expansion packs.
If something comes to me I'll post it right away. Hopefully its something that Traveler has run across in his..um..travels.

Ok....I think I got it .....I registered and asked over at the TES:Morrowind website/forums.

They said its not necessarily a disease, but it probably was magic in nature....I've had the attributes damaged. I can easily get a "restore" attributes potion or a temple blessing for "restore" attributes.

So..you probably were on the right track TQ...it just isn't something that shows up as an affect because its not "magic" affecting me now...they've just been damaged from what they "should" be.

The Elder Scrolls forums are rich with game info and there's almost always someone with the answer you seek.
I've gone there myself numerous times looking for the answer to something that was puzzling me.

While you're at the forums you might want to consider reading up on some of the things you can do with the editor. It's really quite cool to use and adapt some of the game's characteristics to better fit the way you want the game to play.
For example, once I had reached a high character level (over 20) the constant critter attacks began to annoy me.
It's useful to kill everything to level up, but after a while it just becomes a nuisance.
Enter the editor, where you can change the level of aggression of every species, thus leaving your journies unhindered from constant animal attacks.
Logically, it makes sense that all animals wouldn't seek to kill you on sight so a tweak of this *ahem* nature doesn't upset the game balance, in my opinion.

In these days of no quick-save, endless respawning and other annoyances that developers put into games it's nice to be able to do some deep tweaks to get a game to play just the way you like it.

I was thinking about that....I don't want to "cheat" per se, but I liked your idea earlier about making the game more realistic in the fact that shop owners in the big cities, like Vivec and Balmora should have more money to barter with.

Part of the game is doing the multi day bartering thing. Read the secrets pages on how to do multi day bartering. It's a good thing. You make tons of money that way with the ten percent premium method. Only two traders can giuve you the 10 percent more than value price, Creeper and the MudCrab. Learn how to do it with Creeper and the MudCrab. Get rich that way. No extra mercantile skill is needed there. And thus no editing. If you need it, I'll take you through the steps on how to sell a 150,000 iweapon to someone with only 10,000. See me on the channel for that one. And you should set it up early for later in the game when you get plenty of the high value items.

Set your teleportation device to instantly take you to the MudCrab who has the most money of anyone in the game. That way you can instantly sell to the richest merchant in the game and be overburdened with a thousand pounds of goods.

Personally, I only sell to the MudCrab the high value items.

Ok....how do I do this teleportation thing? I've heard it mentioned a couple of times....but the only thing close that I've come across is the scroll of SomebodyOrOther's Intervention which took me to the temple in Gnisis. I've also heard something about teleportation between "indexes" for shrine markers or something that I haven't figured out either.

Also...my current dilemma....I'd love to kill this orc that wants to die but "must" fight for a death of honor....just outside Suran. Do I have "any" chance against him until I'm a very high level? I'm up to level 9 now I think, but he kicks my butt real fast...two strokes of that lucious sword and I'm dead as a doornail! The book said his sword is a good "endgame" sword (I assume they mean weapon to use on Dagoth Ur). Should I want and come back to him when I'm a higher level or is there some secret?

A "Mark" spell allows you to, uh, "mark" the spot you wish to return to each time. A "Recall" spell returns you to the spot you "marked". If you use your Mark spell again it overwrites the previous spot you marked.

Unfortunately, that Orc is probably too tough for you as a level 9. When outmatched I found that it was helpful to have a ranged weapon and the ability to levitate. I'd find a spot that the NPC couldn't reach, levitate to it and then proceed to ventilate him with the bow of choice.

Thanks for the info...I haven't seen a "mark" or "recall" spell yet. Maybe I can buy one somewhere and just haven't noticed them.

For the orc....that's a great idea.....I definitely need to work on my ranged weapon skills....one of my weakest attributes....still only about a 10 maybe. I've spent most of my time using blunt weapon or long sword..so my ranged weapon, axe and short sword skills are all pretty low. I need to get some major cash and then go train them up to a higher level I think.

By the way, keep a few of those Divine Intervention scrolls in your inventory. Not only will you need at least one at a certain point in the main quest but they're handy to have in case you get in over your head and need to warp quickly out of a bad situation.

Once when I was playing with my pathetically weak Wood Elf character (before I became the Wood Elf of every NPC's nightmare) I was beset upon by no less than three orcs. I levitated up on the roof of a nearby building and then picked them off one at a time with my longbow.
I then, of course, looted their corpses of all that fine (and expensive) orcish armor.
