Anyone do MORROWIND ?

The next chapter of "The Elder Scrolls" is due out in a year. It is Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. It takes place back on the mainland and is a little more mideveal. The initial looks indicate that the graphis=cs are amazing and that the story and places to explore are rich. There should be initial reviews out soon and I will bet it will be featured at E-3.

About a year? Have you seen a date? We've talked a bit about it. The article I read implied that it was really more or less done, but they were just adding quests and stuff into the game. I was "hoping" it would be sooner than a year, but I have seen no dates.

I thought the article said it was slated for release on the next generation of consoles? If that's the case it'll probably be late 2005-2006.

It should run for you. You don't have your profile filled out so no one knows your system but still it should run fine. Try uninstalling/reinstalling after a defrag.

Say, any of you kids run Therana's quest for Auriel's Bow? You get a real nice surprise if you complete it and say "yes" when she asks if you want to be rewarded.
I think it was the coolest quest reward I have ever gotten in the game.

You have to be aligned with House Telvanni to get it...

Eventually I'll do Telvanni. Interesting that Auriel's Bow is in Arena too. Maybe I'll go get that one. It comes with infinite arrows in Arena.

I didn't know that it perhaps came with infinite arrows (not that I regret giving the bow to Therana, based on the nifty reward she gave me) but I wonder if she would still have it if I went back and whacked her?

If she gives me any sass when I go for Hortator I may just have to do that...

It would be interesting to see if Morrowind gives it the same properties as Arena gives it.

I had a memorable Morrowind moment a few days ago. I was hired to whack a Telvanni mage that was giving Therana a hard time. The Mage had five goons with her and was camped out on Therana's front lawn.
Just to hear her side I went over to talk to this troublemaker and she told me in no uncertain terms not to get involved.
Fine, I thought, I gave you your chance. So I walked back to the narrow walkway that leads up to Therana's place thinking to position myself in a way that would be easily defensible. I drew my Daedric bow, notched up some dire poison arrows and proceeded to take out the rogue sorceress and her posse with one shot for each.
It was magic...I couldn't miss...six shots, six deaders.
Then, in a "Chronicles of Riddick" moment, what was theirs was now mine. I looted the bodies and picked up 1K from Therana's head of security for the whack job.

Love the "tweaked" combat system. It's about time RPG's began to move into a more substantive and satisfying way of handling combat.
